Objective: A game where you collect "books", which are sets of four cards of the same rank, by requesting cards from other players which you need and think they may have. Whoever collects most sets wins.

Passive. Little or no movement is required.

Needed: Standard 52 card deck
Setup: Deal 5 cards to each player or 7 each for 2 players. Put the rest face down to form a draw pile. Play starts with the player to dealer's left starts.
Turns: A turn consists of asking a another player for cards. For example, if it is my turn I can turn to any other player and ask for all their kings. In order to do this I must possess in my hand at least one king. Players cannot ask for cards if they do not possess at least one of the same rank. If the person who was asked has one or more kings they must hand them over to the asker and the asker gets another turn.
If the person asked does not have any cards of the named rank, they say 'Go fish!'. The asker must then take a card off the draw pile. If the card they take is the exact rank card they just asked for, then they can take another turn. They should show it to the other players of course to prove it. If the card is not the rank they asked for, then they simply add it too their hand and the player who was asked gets the next turn.
Winning: As soon as a player collects a book of 4 cards of the same rank, these should be taken from the hand and placed in front of the player. The game goes on until either someone has no cards left in their hand or the draw pile runs out. You can continue to play even if the draw pile runs out but when someone has to "go fish" they simply do nothing. The winner is the player who has the most books of four cards of the same rank.
Exact card version: In this version, rather than ask for a rank, you ask for a specific card. However, you must already hold at least one card of that same rank. If the person asked has it, they hand it over and you go again. If they don't you draw and if the drawn card is the card asked, then you go again. If not, it's the next person's turn. Players need to agree whether it is OK to ask for a card which they already hold in their hand. They might do this just so they can "go fish" or to fake out the other players into thinking that they didn't hold that card.
Winning by scoring: Players can play a number of hands, scoring one point for each book they make. The game continues until someone wins by reaching the target score. Ten points is a good number.
