Beware that very few hotels are available in countryside outside Darkhan and Erdenet towns and some province centers along popular tourist routes like Moron , Huvsgul Lake or Dalanzadgad in South Gobi .

Hotels that are available usually offer very basic room with two beds for $ 15 per night.

Beyond province centers the most popular accommodation is so called gher camp. It usually comprises of 10 to 60 ghers or traditional Mongolian dwelling, separate dining hall (usually a spacious log cabin or larger gher) and toilet/shower cabins. Prices range from $ 20 to $ 30 per night including meals and $ 10- 15 without meals.

Tourists can generally camp with a tent and sleeping bags. However it is advisable to camp away from settlements to avoid theft and overly curious local youngsters. Also be aware of the camping in protected areas and parks.
